Help Oasis NC Day School for Autistic Children Buy A Bus & You Could Win A 2016 Chevrolet Malibu!

BUY THE BUS! Campaign

From now until May 6th, 2016, anyone who makes a donation of $50 or more to Oasis NC Center for Autistic Children will be entered for a chance to win a new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu from Jeff Gordon Chevrolet. All donations are tax deductible.

The Oasis NC has a goal of $25,000 to purchase the school bus. 100% of donations will be to purchase the bus and any extra funds will go towards scholarships and expanding to a high school for these kids.

This bus will enable the students of Oasis NC to:
  • Visit all of the amazing places our community has to offer.
  • Participate in hands-on learning experiences.
  • Apply the social skills they have been learning in the "real world."
  • Visit potential volunteer and vocational opportunities.
  • Allow students that may lack transportation to attend our after-school program.
  • Enable the community to see how smart, kind, and funny the kids really are, while disabling common stereotypes about autism.

The team at Jeff Gordon Chevrolet came across this local news story explaining Oasis NC's need to purchase a bus, as their only form of transportation now is the teachers personal vehicles. As one of their main missions to explore Wilmington, North Carolina to improve the students' learning and development, we wanted to do our part in helping the school raise more money quicker to reach their goals.

Chevrolet launched a nation-wide campaign encouraging everyone to use the extra day (Leap Day) to do something a little bit extra for one person, or several people in your community. One part of Jeff Gordon Chevy's #DayItForward campaign was to give these kids a day to remember and help spread the word about their fundraising efforts. The Wilmington Hammerheads Youth FC staff gladly offered to give these a couple hours of fun at their indoor facility. We also contacted Enterprise Rent-A-Car who was eager to loan the school two Transit vans for the day to get them to and from the facility.

To further the campaign to raise funds, Jeff Gordon Chevrolet launched a campaign giving people the chance to win a new car for donating.
