Chevrolet were a major sponsor this year providing over 100 vehicles, 70 of which were the brand new 08 Malibu. The airshow attracted thousands of spectators on both days for their chance to watch the main attraction - The Tunderbirds. Also in attendance was the Golden Knights, The Aeroshell North American Team, F-15 Strike Eagle Demo Team and much more!

Thank You, and the Dealership, for your generosity in providing a Malibu for the Teacher of the month at our Local High Schools. It is a much appreciated tangible complement to the honor of being selected by our peers.

In addition to the use of the Malibu, the staff was beyond professional. In each of my interactions I was treated as an honored guest at your dealership. I primarily worked with Mark Thornton and Gary Hamilton, each of whom went beyond the call of duty. I would also like for you to know, those staff members with whom I interacted only peripherally were professional and courteous to the highest level. This includes those who greeted me upon arrival, to the switchboard, and those who assisted me in locating either Mark or Gary.

The Malibu exceeded my expectations. The fuel economy was very nice. In addition my wife, who has both an education and a working background in engineering, complimented multiple times to family and friends on the positive "fit and feel".

I was most impressed by the comfort on a long drive. The Friday prior to returning the Malibu we drove over 650 miles, returning home from vacation. While I am bigger than average, over 6ft and 320 lbs, I had no soreness or stiffness and less than expected travel weariness from the long trip.

This gracious award is much appreciated.

Malibu Hybrid has an EPA estimated MPG 24 city/32 highway, and using less gasoline means less greenhouse gas emissions. Power is generated by the GM Hybrid Propulsion Eletric System combine with an Ecotec 2.4L four-cylinder Hybrid engine with variable valve timing. Jeff Gordon Chevrolet Forges Season-long Partnership to Aid Winter Park Optimist

Wilmington (February 1, 2008) - In the spirit of community collaboration and teamwork taught through youth sports, Jeff Gordon Chevrolet has developed a partnership with Winter Park Optimist through the Chevy Youth Baseball program that will include both monetary and equipment donations during the 2008 little league baseball season.

Now in its third year, Chevy Youth Baseball is an initiative that establishes a positive relationship between local dealers and the communities they serve. Jeff Gordon Chevrolet partnered with the Winter Park Optimist because of the league's proximity to the dealership. Over the course of the season, Jeff Gordon Chevrolet will donate team equipment kits, which include: equipment bags, baseballs, ball buckets and t-shirts. They will also help donate a Chevy Tahoe SUV, which will be raffled off by participating teams, including Winter Park Optimist. Team and leagues that participate in the Chevy Tahoe raffle keep 100 percent of the proceeds. The little league teams will also have unique experiences by participating in baseball clinics and other activities led by the Wilmington Sharks staff.

"We are looking forward to a great season with Winter Park Optimist that will be filled with exciting games and an enhanced experience for the teams through the equipment donations, baseball clinics and other program components," said Mark Thornton, of Jeff Gordon Chevrolet. "Chevy Youth Baseball is just one example of how committed our dealership is to supporting the youth and families in the Wilmington community."

During the 2007 little league baseball season, more than 70 Chevrolet dealers from the Metro-Atlanta and Tampa areas helped generate close to $300,000 in donations from the dealerships and private parties. The dealers also donated $112,000 as a result of the Home Run Derby, a program conducted in conjunction with The Atlanta Braves and The Tampa Bay Rays.
