Equipped with Active Fuel Management technology
The Chevrolet Tahoe comes with a dynamite 5.3L 320 hp V8 that serves up 340 pound-feet of torque.
The engine is equipped with GM's NEW Active Fuel Management technology that helps maximize fuel economy. GM says “With Active Fuel Management technology, power is delivered when you need it. In plain terms, the engine moves seamlessly from eight cylinders to four cylinders and back again, making it a power plant that delivers both power and efficiency. In situations where extra power is not needed, such as cruising down the highway on level roads, Active Fuel Management deactivates four of the eight cylinders with seamless precision”.
Mileage amounts to 16/22 mpg (city/highway) for the 2WD and 15/21 mpg (city/highway) on the AWD. It has a maximum towing capacity of 7,500 lbs. on the 2WD and 8,200 lbs. on the AWD.
