  2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
Rugged, refined and fun SUV – Chevy’s TrailBlazer

The Chevrolet TrailBlazer traces its roots to Chevy's Blazer line of vehicles; the S-10 Blazer to be precise. The S-10 Blazer was put forward in 1991. For 1999 the TrailBlazer was further revamped into a plush 4-door version. In 2002 Chevy took things a step further and regenerated the TrailBlazer into a sleek yet rugged and fun SUV for the adventure lover.

The TrailBlazer is available in three main variants; LS, LT and LS. For 2007, the TrailBlazer brings in a couple of standard gear such as; a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, new exterior colors and an OnStar Generation 7 system. Regulated voltage control improves mileage. The TrailBlazer SS now offers two variants; the 1SS and 3SS.

It has a basic warranty of 36 months/36,000 miles. An Integrated Navigation Radio is optional on the SS models with the available 3SS Package and LT (1).The Bose six-speaker system is optional on most TrailBlazer models. An available factory-installed Panasonic DVD entertainment system is located in the headliner between the first- and second-row seats. A Skid Plate Package is optional only on the 4x4 versions.

Choice of three engines

The 2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer has a standard 4.2L In-line 6 291 hp engine with a torque of 277 pound-feet (lb-ft) and EPA estimated fuel economy amounts to 16/22 mpg (city/highway) for the 2WD and 15/21 mpg (city/highway) for the 4WD. The 5.2L V8 300 hp engine has a torque of 330 lb-ft and an EPA estimated mileage of 16/22 mpg (city/highway) for the 2WD and 15/21 mpg (city/highway) for the 4WD.

The SS package has a 6.0L V8 395 hp engine with a torque of 400 lb-ft and an EPA estimated fuel economy of 15/19 mpg (city/highway) for the 2WD and 14/17 mpg (city/highway) for the 4WD. All have a standard heavy-duty hydra-Matic 4-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with overdrive.

Sturdy, graceful and functional

The TrailBlazer’s underlying theme for its exterior styling is aggressive and dynamic, starting with the in-your-face headlamps and split grille. A wide opening liftgate helps provide easy access to the rear cargo area. Also included is a liftglass that makes it convenient to toss–in small items, like a backpack or a duffel bag.

A roof-mounted luggage rack is standard on the LT. It has optional crossbars and loads up to 200 pounds. Optional running boards composed of a resilient material give the TrailBlazer a rugged appeal while also providing a convenient and durable assist step for entry and exit.

Utilitarian and serviceable

This 5-passenger Chevy offers comfortable seating. The LS has manually adjustable seats. LT models feature optional power adjustable pedals (standard on the 3SS) that allow shorter drivers to position themselves comfortably by moving the brake and accelerator pedals by up to three inches.

The standard Convenience Package includes power windows and door locks, front express-down windows, a power rear-glass release and a rear-window wiper/washer.

Cruise Control, front/rear cupholders, OnStar, interior lighting and the Universal Home Remote transmitter (standard on the LT and 3SS) are among some of its standard interior features.

Class leading I-6 and an enthusiastic V8 = great engine options

The In-line 6 provides ample power for most driving. Its 6-cylinder is refined and fluid. The 4-speed AT mates well with the engine and offers up seamless shifts. The TrailBlazer’s V8 provides heaps of torque that come in handy while hauling heavy cargo. Both the 2WD and 4WD TrailBlazers deliver a smooth ride quality and handling.

The standard four-wheel ABS responds well under hard braking and keeps the nose of the TrailBlazer on the level. A low center of gravity because of its wide track and low engine position reduces the likelihood of a roll over. The added muscle from the V8 increases trailer-towing capabilities.

Array of safety features

Safety features comprise 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, stability control, dual-stage frontal airbags and LATCH (Lower Anchors and Top tethers for Children) system for child safety seats (second-row seat) are standard. The Driver Information Center (DIC) is standard on SS models with the available 3SS Package and LT models. Driver and right-front passenger frontal airbags with Passenger Sensing System (PSS) are standard across trims. Head-curtain side-impact airbags are optional.
